The weather
in Buttonwillow was awful. It was freezing cold and super foggy all weekend. The track was way slick. I struggled all
weekend to keep it off the spin cycle. I didn't do good at all on Saturday and Sunday started out to be the same as Saturday.
Finally in the main event I was able to get a good start and finish on the podium in 5th place. Thanks Glenn for all your
help and letting us sleep in your RV. Thanks to all my team mates and their families for feeding us and helping out all weekend.
Next stop Phoenix..... I hope.

July 24, 2009 / Reno,Nevada,
IKF 2 Cycle Grand Nationals: Congratulations to PKS team mate Brennen Mankin for winning the Duffy in Rookie Sportsman
Great
job Brennen!
July 3 & 4, 2009 / Big Fresno Fair Grounds, Kerman
Kart Club: We left home Thursday night and the thermometer was still north of 100°. Friday practice was
hot, but nothing a dip in the "Big Fountian" wouldn't cure. Saturday morning we got off to a slow start. For
the main in Junior 1 I started 5th. I had a really bad start that put me back to 9th. By the end of the race I had caught
the leaders and finished 3rd. In HPV1 I got another bad start, then I was attacked by a cone. The cones are crazy in Fresno.
I charged forward and raced with my friends to finish 1st. This was my first cadet win. I was glad to share that day with
all of my friends. The night ended with a great BBQ by the Kearney's and another great Smithbuilt firework show. What a great
weekend! Thanks Kerman Kart Club.

April 3-5, 2009 / Grange Motor Curcuit, IKF Region 7:
March 28 & 29, 2009 / Big Fresno Fair Grounds, Kerman Kart Club: Saturday practice,
Sunday raced Junior 1 finished 4th.
March 6-8, 2009 / Buttonwillow Race Park, IKF Region 7: Saturday started out like
any other day at the track. The weather was in the low 30s and my dad was worried about our fuel separating. It wasn't a great
day, but my dad said that tomorrow would be a better day. Sunday was much better. We were fast in practice, qualified 3rd,
then I wrecked with another driver in the heat race. In the main I started from the back and worked my way up to 10th.
February 12, 2009 / Daytona International Speedway: My favorite driver,
Jeremy Mayfield in the 41 All Sport Toyota, raced his way into the 51st Daytona 500 during the Nascar Gatorade Duels 2. I
cant wait to see him kick some butt on Sunday. Go get em Jeremy!
February 6- 8, 2009 / Cal Speed Kart Track, IKF Region 7: Wet, Wet, Wet! How hard
could this rain be? Wow! The forecast called for rain on Saturday and cloudy skys on Sunday. Saturday started with our
fuel & oil separating, due to the cold, for both practice sessions. We followed up the day by getting to know Brad, the
guy who picks you and your kart up after you spin. Sunday proved to be colder & wetter. Team mate Neil McCoy help me tone
down my driving as well as make improvements to the chassis. After a pep talk with Glenn and my Dad, in Sunday's main event
I finally finish the session without a single spin.
January 31 - February 1, 2009 / Cal Speed Kart Track: Getting ready for the IKF Region
7 Round 1. On Saturday you couldn't ask for better weather, but Sunday on the other hand was a little windy. All of the kids
practiced both days and had a great time. This weekends race should be fun, oh ya, there is promise of rain. Good Times.
January 11, 2009 / Cal Speed Kart Track: Getting ready for the IKF Region 7 Round 1. Fontana
was blowing this morning. When we got to track the wind had taken its toll on the facility. Barriers and trash cans were everywhere,
porta potties knocked over and the timing trailer at the start finish line was on its side. As soon as we unloaded the wind
went away only to return around 3:30. All and all a good day.
